The Proclamation of 1763 was started when British leaders thought colonists didn't have the right to claim or buy land in America. The government decided to stop the westward movement of the colonists was the only way to end fighting, King George the 3rd made the proclamation of 1763 . The proclamation told British colonists they could not buy land west of the Appalachians mountains from the Native Americans, hunt on it, or explore the land. The king hoped the rule would prevent more wars between the colonists and the Native Americans. The colonists were furious with the new rule. The Proclamation of 1763 did not stop the colonists, however. Daniel Boone went against the rule. The Indians were so afraid that they attacked some of the colonists. Nearly 2,00 settlers,or colonists, died of the fighting.
